Why is the air compressor motor damaged?

Air compressor motor damage can be caused by a variety of factors, here are some of the main causes and their solutions:


1.Mechanical and electrical control issues: Since air compressors often operate independently, there is a lack of professional monitoring and operation, and failure to deal with faults in a timely manner can lead to exacerbated problems.


2.Reliability and sensitivity of automatic air pressure switch: The automatic air pressure switch mostly adopts mechanical structure, which may affect its normal operation due to improper adjustment or mechanical vibration and other factors, resulting in overload operation or fault blockage of the motor.


3.Frequent start-up: The air compressor lacking an automatic exhaust device stops and automatically exhausts to reduce pressure after reaching the set pressure, if the exhaust valve fails, it may cause the motor to start with load, causing difficulty in starting or stalling.


4.Power switching problem: When the automatically controlled air compressor is restarted after a sudden power failure, the air pressure in the cylinder is not released, which may cause the motor to start under heavy load, resulting in a stalled rotor fault.


5.Irregular gas consumption: When the gas consumption fluctuates greatly, the motor needs to be started frequently, and the large current and heat accumulation generated during the start may cause the motor to overheat or even burn out.


6.Heavy-duty shutdown: The air compressor stops when it reaches the maximum pressure, and the AC contactor is easily damaged when it is subjected to heavy load and high current, which may cause power failure, such as lack of phase.


7.Insufficient motor protection device: The protection device of the air compressor motor is mostly a thermal relay, which has problems such as limited function and low accuracy, and cannot effectively protect the motor from overload and stall failure.


To solve these problems, the following measures should be taken: optimize operation and circuit connection, regularly check and maintain the automatic air pressure switch, reduce frequent start-ups, and ensure the effectiveness of motor protection devices.
